Central Dallas Community Development Corporation

CitySquare Housing was founded in 2001 to act as the development and housing arm of CitySquare. Now known as Central Dallas Community Development Corporation, it has its own tax-exempt status as a 501(c)(3) corporation, and although started with no assets, it has developed or constructed almost 1,000 residential units, 200,000 sq. ft. of commercial space, and is closing in on the $200 million mark in assets developed and a consolidated net worth of $30 million. Central Dallas Community Development Corporation has achieved these successes by bringing an innovative and sophisticated approach to funding nonprofit development, where necessary creating capital stacks that rival or exceed the work of much larger for-profit developers in complexity.

Central Dallas Community Development Corporation addresses homelessness with the model ‘Housing First’. ‘Housing First’ provides immediate permanent housing solutions for the chronically homeless in the city of Dallas.
